Charities

Penllyn Community Council is the sole Trustee of two local charities. These are:

ALLOTMENTS FOR THE LABOURING POOR - Charity Number 217855
This Charity was set up by the former Penllyn Parish Council many years ago and has a very limited amount of cash assets but controls land at the Rhiw in Graig Penllyn, this site locally referred to as the "Parish Field". The Field is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and is leased at a nominal rent to the local residents group to manage and conserve in collaboration with Natural Resources Wales for the benefit and wellbeing of the residents of penllyn and Graig Penllyn.

The assets of the Charity are used to maintain the "Parish Field" as an open natural space to improve the wellbeing of the residents of the parish of Penllyn in particular those who are in need, hardship or distress.

THE WINCHFIELD CHARITY GRAIG PENLLYN - Charity Number 1110224

This Charity was set up by the Community Council to administer a donation made by the Penllyn Estate for land known as the "Winchfield Park" at Graig Penllyn. The land is currently leased to local resident groups at nominal rents for recreational purposes.

The purpose of the Charity is: "To promote for the benefit of the inhabitants of Graig Penllyn and Penllyn and the surrounding area the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who need such facilities by reason of youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said individuals."
